TIMS Competitive Rate Analysis
Report
For many years, hotel managers have been attempting to increase the yield
of their hotel by using a variety of tools and strategies. Some of these
strategies were quite time consuming but well worth the effort. In 1991,
the TIMS Competitive Rate Analysis Report was developed to be a more efficient
tool and it is now used by hotel managers around the globe to improve
their GDS positioning (Global Distribution Systems) for better revenue
management.
The TIMS Competitive Rate Analysis Report, "TIMS Report"
is a detailed analysis of rates and room types being distributed by
Central Reservation Offices (CRS) to Global Distributions Systems (GDS).
A customized spreadsheet is used to detail room rates and availability
information over a 4, 8 or 12 week period in the future (or longer upon
request). TIMS categorizes the rate availability found in the market
into several TIMS categories. This process is unique to the TIMS Reports
and helps our clients to better organize and manage the large numbers
of available rates and rooms in their markets. The Report is divided
into eight different areas of analysis plus three graphs.
TIMS is the only company to:
- Turn-around most TIMS Reports within 8 hours of receipt
of data;
- Collect and analyze all rates being distributed in
the GDS including rates found in additional GDS Rate Categories for
complete and accurate information;
- Ensure the Reports are presented in an easy-to-read
format that is also easy-to-print;
- Focus exclusively on CRS data distributed via seamless
availability links from Sabre® because it is the most accurate
data available to travel agents and is now used by most hotel companies;
- Offer expert on-the-spot support services providing
immediate answers about the TIMS Reports, the data provided therein
or any other distribution question;
- Perform manual queries in Sabre® whenever the
CRS link are down at the time of the original data extraction;
- Analyze separately discounted rates such as: AAA,
Senior Citizen, and Government;
- Provide 3 Graphs: Low rate, low Corporate rate, and
High Occupancy;
- Convert rates in multiple currencies into the same
currency of the subscriber hotel.
Additional highlights and benefits of the TIMS Reports:
- The overall benefit of using the TIMS Reports is
that you save valuable time and ensure accurate and complete competitive
rate information without performing manual call-arounds;
- TIMS customizes all Reports to accommodate subscribers'
needs by offering a choice of delivery days and a choice of reporting
periods to match booking windows, in addition to offering FREE competitive
set changes, multiple night queries and Email delivery groups;
- TIMS has a reputation for being accurate and complete
every time. TIMS has been providing the Reports to thousands of discriminating
hoteliers over the past 10 years and has been analyzing CRS Seamless
data since 1997.
1 Seamless Connectivity (a.k.a.
Inside Availability) refers to the latest type of GDS link whereby the
hotels' central reservation systems are linked directly to the GDS to
ensure the most current and accurate rate information available. Because
of the benefits, most major hotel companies are (or will be) using seamless
connectivity.
